Oh, the Mission is clear To steer that black hole away from Earth Away from all of us It threatens to destroy With its big gaping void It threatens to treat us Just like a little toy Pablua Ursa, Courageous envoy Sailin' through the black hole To see what she can do To see if she can reason With the Insectoids The warrior race Who's come to destroy the Earth. Pablua Ursa, Tell us what it's worth Pablua Ursa, Hero of the Galaxy! Pablua Ursa, Hero of the Galaxy Come to see a new way To express reality With music and song, It won't be long 'Til those creatures feel heard enough To end up where they belong. It'll take a the love you've got It'll take everything you've got And you'll have a lot It'll take you, it'll take you everything, Pablua Everything you've got! Wooo!

Deep Space 02:44
Pablua Ursa, deep in space Gone to save the whole human race Can it be done, she doesn't know She's gone to stop that black hole Driven by a race called the Insectoids They're flinging everything they've got, They're flinging the void Pablua took a crew, Don't know what they're gonna do Gonna try to stop that black hole From swallowing me and you In deep space You get a new face Gotta face your fears, Gotta face the tears Ain't a star for a million years Ain't a light to guide you by The weight on your shoulders It is enough to make you cry Even though you're weightless Your fate isn't fateless And destiny is reachin' All around your cabin door It's crying out for more Yeah Pablua Ursa, they're sailing on Sailing to the land where there is no dawn Into deep space territory Where the human race has never gone To tell a story To save us all To communicate to that race That's tied to a black hole The Insectoids It's a billion a miles From here to there They gotta bring rations, They gotta bring care They gotta bring their best clothes...
3.
Oh Pablua and her Crew sailin' in that deep blue Sailin' into outer space to try to save the race of me and you Goin' to that black hole of the Insectoids To try to tell them to let go of that void Pablua wants to get closer to that skeleton ship Shaped like a metal hull twisted into a thousand metal strips With spikes and gauges, and all sorts of metal cages Drifting on the edge of that black hole that's lasted through the ages Now the radio signal comes in from that skeleton ship That's been for ten thousand years adrift And all Pablua hears is screeching from the other end It kinda sounds like this my friend (screeching) So Pablua, the brave hero, decides to go on Take a little escape pod and investigate the cause And they get closer to that ghostly array Time seems to melt and their life fades away And they are terrified of what they see Tryin' to reason with the enemy And they send one last signal before the lights go out And the ship starts to drift towards that black hole spout And they're goin' in Pablua's going into the black hole Signal's jammed by the insects now Pablua's going into the black hole And it's all over now
4.
Oh, she opens her eyes, And to her surprise She is not dead But covered with light Oh, she opens her eyes To her surprise There are great giant worms Flying over her head Then they speak to her In a voice so plain "Let go of your judgement Let go of your pain For you to see The humanity Of the enemy You'll need to be In love" "You see, the truth about the insectoids Is they did not set out to destroy They were once like you, A world teeming with playful girls and boys And in-betweens But they were conquered By another race They were conquered And chained up into space" You must try to see Oh, Pablua You must try to reach Through the noise Through your fears Through your doubts And your sorrow And the years of pain." And Pablua asked "How can I do that?" And they said "Sing." And they send her on her way Back into space Through the black hole With a new face A face of compassion A face of wise action A face of love, Of grace Of love for all.
5.
Have you ever been Through a black hole? There's only one who has And it's a wild ride through a black hole It makes you feel like a spaz... You're being stretched out, stretched thin Stretched out of your oxygen Pablua Ursa, barely hanging on for her life... She's goin' through a black hole Through a black hole, giddy-up Through a black hole Her memory is being stretched thin Her mind is rended to oblivion She is killed, she is reborn As the tunnel closes up behind her She sees the stars ahead She sees the insect ship She sees the path ahead She sees a new relationship
6.
Oh, Pablua on the other side of a black hole Back where she came from, She returns To the nebula She's incredulous, She's a legend She's got everything in front of her to do So she turns on her telecom She's trying to punch through To the insectoids who have tuned her out Through no fault of their own You see they've been chained up to that black hole For the past ten thousand years Attached to the event horizon And there they've had to live in fear Oh- You see, they're too afraid to let go Too afraid of what they don't know Too afraid, too afraid to surrender into that black hole So Pablua taps into the mission Taps into compassion And plays into their radio And starts to sing A little bit of their song It starts out weak, but it soon gets strong And she says "oh, oh oh oh! You'll soon be where you belong my friends, oh, oh oh oh! And nobody really knows where it ends, oh, oh oh oh! You must not be afraid to let go. I know it's scary, but I have done it- And on the other side there is hope I know it's scary, but I have done it And on the side there is a whole new world Waitin' for you And I am sorry for what they did to you And I am sorry for the pain they put you through And I am sorry- if I can heal you, then I will do my best I swear it on my breast And she said "oh, oh oh oh!" And she sang "oh oh oh !"
7.
"Oh we hear you loud and clear For the first time in ten thousand years We hear you loud and clear And your music's music to our ears You see we've lived in fear Of losing everything we had Of fathers losing children Children losing their dads We feared the end of our race We saw it so clear But you have shined your face Like a bright silver mirror." And they turned their engine off Which had run for so very long Trusting the word of Pablua That they would get where they belong And the ship began to drift Slowly at first And some among them Still feared the very worst And the ship got smaller and smaller Fading into the void Pablua knew their work was done They knew that they'd saved the race of the insectoids From terror, from fear From sadness of ten thousand years And they turned to head home
8.
Pablua Ursa, Hero of the Galaxy Follow the first star, a way to see reality Finding a new way to strike out among the stars To heal the planets that are not ours To save the race of the insectoids To save 'em from the endless noise of the void With a song and a chant, they can and they can't But they believe in themselves, taking the worlds off the shelves They say disappear into the black hole, let go of your troubles Disappear into the black hole, into that giant space bubble But they don't trust her, yeah, they don't know if they can They don't know if they trust that space human And they play them music to soothe their ears They play them music to heal ten thousand years Of pain, of anguish, of sorrow, of anger And in they go-- they're letting go of the danger Pablua Ursa, Hero of the Galaxy Learning a new way to perceive reality Comin' up short, coming' up strong Violet corts, growing on Saturn where they belong

10.
Surrender into that black hole of your life Surrender that black hole and you'll be born anew On the other side there is life Not death, like they told you You gotta give up your fears And your hatred And your judgement To find that which is sacred- On the other side of your fear You will see it all so clear As on a polished mirror You will see your face so dear, Pablua Ursa! Victorious at last, Victorious at last! Pablua goin' home Victorious at last She has brought peace To the galaxy She has brought peace to you and me With a chant and a song, Yeah it won't be long! Til' those creatures are back at home Where they belong In a new home in a new place in a distant galaxy With a new poem, and a new face And life for you and me It's her destiny

about

The Saga of Pablua Ursa:

A luscious, lo-fi improvised space scene, or many scenes composing a mini-epic. Such an explosion of sound. It reminds me of an old tome. Like an Arthurian legend set in the future.

The hero, a musician and singer, is sent into space to investigate a black hole being driven straight to Earth by an alien ship.

How does she get them to stop? Who are the villains, and who is in need of healing?

And what role does music serve in that healing?

A big one, I gather, from what was sung. So much of my life essence is in Pablua, in her compassion, in her fear, in her journey. I hope that you will go on that journey with me today, or sometime over the next few days in the darkest part of the year.

Kindle a light at the edge of the void.
I’ll be there waiting-
